I was so excited about my upcoming restaurant design project until recently, when the professor crushed my intended design plans. The plan is to design a Restaurant in America (scratch my original idea of placing this restaurant in Jamaica)......no problem.....using any floor plan of one's own choice up to 10,000 sq.ft.....FANTASTIC!!! (I am bored to death with everyone having the same floor plan). To top it off, we get to work with a local restaurant owner who's in the process of building another restaurant. Ecstatic!!!! So me, because I like to plan things out (just makes my life easier) start sketching ideas and searching for that one inspiration piece. Hence, images of lighting you see below.
This guy (the one directly above) was going to be my show-stopper, my eye-magnet, the beast that was going to take center stage and inspire my design, until I found out that the restaurant is a casual styled BBQ establishment. While I don't think this fancy smancy guy will fit the casual style, I will custom design a light fixture that resembles it. On a happy note, I am looking forward to sitting down with the restaurant owner and getting his take on things.
Here you have it, my grievance for the week....albeit on a small scale.
