Studying art history and history of interior design has really opened my eyes to many things especially period furniture: I've grown to appreciate them. You all know how much I adore my books. Here is the latest member to join my book collection: "Contemporary Living with Antiques". A beautiful coffee table book that is filled with spaces that are unions of old and new. A timeless collection of period and current. I flipped through the book and inside are these lovely treats.
A House in the Luxembourg Countryside. A combination of neutrals and period pieces throughout the house brings out the contemporary spirit. The owners favored use of natural materials such as natural wood, stone, lime and linen.
Something about this blue bathroom and central blue tub captures me.
I love a chandelier in a bathroom especially if it sits over a tub. It's elegant, romantic and fitting for a quick spa escape.
A farmhouse in West Flanders. A bathroom in tadelakt and oak. Nice and clean. The neutral palette is quite soothing.
An architect's house in Zeeland (The Netherlands). This house boasts custom furniture pieces from JOB Interiors. These chairs are covered in rubber and the x-frame dining table is of oak. Love the light fixture.
Ethnic flavor with collections of African and Asian artifacts. The large fireplace is made of French stone and the coffee table is of Thai origin. The global appeal of this room is sensational. The focal lighting highlights the owners' collections, which is a very ideal way of showing it off.
This room reminds me of Restoration Hardware with its slip-covered sofa and louis chair neatly placed in front of the uncovered window. This room is by far my favorite. I love that window.
I look forward to curling up on the sofa, a hot cup of java and my new book. I treasure my time spent with books. Hopefully, thanks to me and other book-lovers out there, print won't become extinct.
Cheers.....
